The award-winning HUB @ Rural Revival was officially opened in June 2024 and has since grown into a vibrant, welcoming, and much-valued space at the heart of the Baltinglass community. From its earliest days, The HUB has been built on a vision of connection, inclusion, and support, offering a place where people can come together in a safe and positive environment. Its impact was quickly recognised, and in June 2025, The HUB was honoured as part of the Baltinglass Municipal District Cathaoirleach’s Awards, alongside the Baltinglass Community Shop. This recognition reflects not only the success of the initiative, but also the dedication, hard work, and community spirit of all those involved in making The HUB what it is today.

At its core, the purpose of The HUB is to bring people together. In a world where many can feel isolated or disconnected, The HUB provides a space where individuals and families can gather, build relationships, and feel a true sense of belonging. It is a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of age, background, or circumstances, and where community is not just encouraged but actively nurtured through a wide variety of programmes and events.

The range of activities hosted at The HUB reflects the diverse needs and interests of the local community. Bereavement support groups offer a compassionate and understanding space for those navigating loss, providing comfort, shared experience, and gentle encouragement during difficult times. Regular ladies’ coffee mornings create a warm and relaxed setting for conversation, friendship, and mutual support, often becoming an important social outlet for many who attend.

For younger members of the community, The HUB provides engaging and creative opportunities such as the popular kids’ Lego club, where imagination and teamwork are encouraged in a fun and inclusive setting. The “Stay and Play” toddler group offers a welcoming environment for parents, guardians, and young children to connect, play, and build early friendships, while also reducing the sense of isolation that can sometimes be experienced by families with young children.

The HUB also offers activities aimed at fostering connection and wellbeing among adults, such as men’s pool tournaments, which provide a relaxed, enjoyable, and social outlet. These events not only encourage participation but also help to build friendships and strengthen community ties in an informal and supportive way.

In addition to regular programmes, The HUB plays an important role in providing information and support services to the wider community. Fostering information days are hosted to offer guidance, answer questions, and support those considering fostering, helping to raise awareness and encourage involvement in this vital area. The HUB also actively supports wider community initiatives, such as opening its doors for the Pieta House Darkness Into Light Walk. By doing so, it demonstrates a strong commitment to mental health awareness, solidarity, and community care.

The HUB is also proud to be home to the JAM Youth Group, which provides a safe, positive, and engaging space for young people to come together, build confidence, and form meaningful connections. Alongside this, the Kids Church Programme offers children a welcoming and supportive environment where they can explore their faith, values, and personal development in a way that is both accessible and encouraging.

What makes The HUB truly special is not just the range of activities it offers, but the atmosphere it creates. It is a place where people feel seen, valued, and supported; where friendships are formed, and where a strong sense of community spirit continues to grow. It stands as a testament to what can be achieved when people come together with a shared vision of care, inclusion, and connection.

As The HUB @ Rural Revival continues to develop and expand, it remains committed to serving the needs of the community and reaching even more individuals and families in the years ahead. With ongoing support and involvement from the local community, The HUB will continue to be a cornerstone of connection, support, and positivity in Baltinglass.
